Lebanon's Noel Jammal wins gold at Formula 3
A+ A-

BEIRUT: Lebanese driver Noel Jammal scored big Sunday, earning himself a gold trophy at the Jerez circuit of the European Formula 3 Open Championship in Spain.

The 21-year-old Cedar Motorsport driver took first position in Race 2 of the circuit, his first gold of the season, after coming sixth in Race 1.

“Finally I’ve managed to break silver,” Jammal told reporters after the race. “I knew I was fast on this race track, all I needed to do was maintain my position during the second race in order to secure my first win this year.”

Jammal went on to dedicate his win “to my country, Lebanon, and my family.”

The Jerez circuit is the seventh of eight circuits of the Formula 3 competition.
