Check out the latest happenings on the agenda this weekend around Beirut.Under the direction of military band leader General Victor Eliseev, the more than 120 artists and performers of the Red Army Choir ensemble promise to astound their audience with an evening of song and dance.This show features works from two chapters of Frank Perrin's "PostCapitalism" project, in which the photographer's three-meter-long photographic panoramas explore the facade, which he considers "the driving force" of the contemporary human condition.This solo show features the traditionally inflected paintings of Gerard Avedissian.This solo show will open Sept. 15 from 6-9 p.m. followed by a conversation between the artist and Frederic Paul.Curated by Iris Kritikou, this show features work by Lebanese artists Laudi Abilama, Yazan Halwani, Leila Kubba Kawash and Bassam Kyrillos.This solo exhibition of work by Scottish poet, writer, artist and gardener Ian Hamilton Finlay is curated by long time associate Pia Simig. The artist's first exhibition in the Middle East, it will include tapestries, neon installations, engraved poems on glass, sculptures and printed works from the 1960s to 2006, the year of his death. This show includes work by some 29 Syrian artists.
