Social justice is a permanent goal, which most Lebanese leaders have promised to achieve in the past decades. While most of these achievements are mentioned in other books on Chehab – such as Nicholas Nassif's "The Republic of Fouad Chehab," Kfuri's work might be the most comprehensive. "Well you have to keep things documented," Kfuri said, "and you have to keep things in hand". His book, he explained, would provide a source for anyone who wants to write about Chehab. Kfuri spent 18 months writing his second book,While noting in the book that such "wrong interference" has distorted the image of the state Chehab was seeking – and first and foremost harmed the president himself – Kfuri insists the Deuxieme Bureau neither clamped down on public freedoms nor was involved in political assassinations. In conversation Kfuri acknowledged that building the state which Chehab dreamt off was not an easy task given the interests of the country's political class.
