For the last six weeks Ibi Ibrahim, Lara Ogel and Evelyn Simons have been artists in residence at Beirut Art Residency, on Pasteur St. in Gemmayzeh. To mark the end of the residency, the former apartment's living room was transformed into a gallery to host BAR's Open Studios show. Created in 2015, the BAR invites artists from Lebanon and abroad to develop their work over the six weeks of their residency, then to showcase it in the open studio.BAR was devised by Amar A. Zahr. After living in several residencies herself, she realized that there is a void in Beirut art scene in its ability to showcase the works of up-and-coming artists.
