Diversity is the defining feature of the books nominated for this year's Le Choix Goncourt de l'Orient prize.Le Choix Goncourt de l'Orient is a regional francophone literature prize, tied to France's Prix Goncourt. Awarded yearly, Le Choix is organized by the regional bureau of the Middle East's Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie and Lebanon's French Institute. The selection reflects the complex human condition, promising incredible reading experiences and touching stories.Each year a jury composed by students from Middle Eastern universities read and select a winner for the prize.Returning as Le Choix Goncourt de l'Orient jury president is celebrated writer Salma Kojok, who briefed the press about the positive experience of this year's evaluation process. Le Choix du Goncourt highlights a humanist determination to offer younger generations the power to read and the power to choose.
