All have a common thread – solidarity with Palestine. The pieces, all donated, are being auctioned online, with additional artworks to be brought under the hammer live during a gala dinner in March. Founded in 1963, the institute has produced about 800 books about the history of the Palestinian ordeal.Paintings of Palestinian landscapes and landmarks are prevalent but there were also many less conventional works – like a barbed-wire olive tree sculpture by Abdul-Rahman Katanani and Khaled Jarrar's passport stamp "State of Palestine".One painting that Chami found interesting was "Rashidiyeh 5," by Marwan Rechmaoui – an annotated charcoal swirl against a blue background wash taken from his 2012 UNRWA series.
