The Beirut Cinema Platform drew to a close Sunday afternoon with an awards ceremony at the penthouse of the Smallville Hotel.Organized by Beirut DC and FLC, the BCP itself ran in parallel to the FLC's Workshop for Writing and Global Media Makers and the Beirut-Locarno Industry Academy International (organized by the Metropolis Association and the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture).The workshops were accompanied by Beirut Cinema Screenings. Organized by Beirut DC and projected at Metropolis, this four-day cycle projected recently premiered, critically feted features from four countries, all directed by women.The $6,000 Beirut Cinema Platform production prize went to "The Bridge," a feature film project being developed by Egyptian writer-director Hala Lotfy.
