A new partnership between Deezer, the global music streaming service, and Rotana might see music fans switching from the popular Anghami, with the launch of Deezer's MENA region services Thursday. The new contract means all Rotana-produced music will be withdrawn from competing streaming service Anghami and uploaded to Deezer exclusively. Users will have access to a wide selection of Arabic hits from Rotana, local content from Mazzika and Qanawat, as well as an international catalogue of 53 million tracks from local and global artists.Lebanese pop singer Elissa tweeted Wednesday that her online content was blocked including on Anghami, where she had racked up almost half a billion plays thanks to her record label, Rotana, signing the Deezer deal.
