Lebanese director Mir-Jean Bou Chaaya will begin directing the first Arabic-language Netflix original series from the Middle East Monday, a statement from the company's media office said.Dubbed "Jinn," the show draws inspiration from "Supernatural" and "Teen Soap" as it explores contemporary themes in the mythology of "jinn," with stories of love, friendship and adventure centered on a group of Arab teenagers.Chaaya and the writers Elan and Rajeev Dassani said they heard many Arab teens saying they've never seen themselves accurately represented on screen, an issue they've tried to rectify with "Jinn".
