In a night that was all about empowerment, actresses Lupita Nyong'o and Laverne Cox, fashion designer Sarah Burton, U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power and Chelsea Clinton were among those awarded Women of the Year awards by Glamour magazine.Clinton was honored for her work with the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation. Glamour also cited her work on a partnership between the Clinton Foundation and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to encourage achievement among women and girls across the world. Nyong'o, whose mother offered congratulations on a pre-taped video, won a supporting-actress Oscar for her performance in "Twelve Years a Slave," capping her swift rise to the top rungs of Hollywood and the fashion world. She was also named a new face of Lancome and appeared on the cover of People magazine's Most Beautiful issue.
