U.S. stocks rose as December car sales that topped estimates sent automaker shares higher. Crude and copper led gains in commodities as the dollar retreated from a 14-year high.Emerging-market stocks climbed and Brazil's real led gains versus the dollar.U.S. Dollar Index was 0.5 percent lower after touching its highest level since at least 2005 . The euro rose 0.7 percent in its first gain against the dollar this year after the region's inflation accelerated in December at the fastest pace since 2013 . Gold was up 0.4 percent after jumping 1 percent in New York Tuesday while copper jumped 1.5 percent.
