The Dow Jones Industrial Average was higher in midday trading after hitting 20,000 for the first time Wednesday as strong earnings and President Donald Trump's pro-growth initiatives reignited a postelection rally.At 12:04 a.m. ET (17:04 GMT), the Dow was up 139.05 points, or 0.7 percent, at 20,051.76 .The S&P 500 was up 14.03 points, or 0.61 percent, at 2,294.1, while the Nasdaq Composite was up 41.69 points, or 0.74 percent, at 5,642.65 .Eight of the 11 major S&P 500 sectors were higher, led by a 1.05 percent rise in financials.The S&P 500 index showed 76 new 52-week highs and one new low, while the Nasdaq recorded 168 new highs and nine new lows.
