BEIRUT: The Transport Ministry is considering the launching of charter flights between Amman and Beirut in order to accommodate heightened traveler traffic between the two cities, according to a statement released by the ministry Thursday.
Travel between Jordan and Lebanon has been greatly constrained since a popular uprising rocked neighboring Syria in March, which restricted land travel to and from Lebanon.
Discussions about the new charter flights occurred during a meeting between Transport and Public Works Minister Ghazi Aridi and Association of Hotel Owners Pierre Achkar.
