Mtc touch slashes rates with three new prepaid cards

BEIRUT: Mtc touch announced Monday its plan to release three additional kinds of prepaid recharge cards with a 60 percent discount off the price of the original magic prepaid card.

Super, Smart and Start are the names of the new cards which will be released in the market starting June 15. They will join the original magic prepaid card.

Owners of prepaid lines will have the chance to recharge their numbers for a 30-day period by choosing one of the following three options: “Start” allows users to recharge their lines for $9.09 and enables them to communicate for 30 minutes; “Smart” allows them to recharge their lines for $15.15 and communicate for 60 minutes; and “Super” entitles them to communicate for 120 minutes by paying $27.27.

With the new plan, mtc touch has slashed the price of one minute by 36 percent and it has also dropped by 25 percent the price of the following services: Mobile Internet, CLIR, Blackberry Internet Service, Missed Call SMS Notification and friends and family.

Mtc touch has also put on the market an SOS card priced at $3.64 which allows prepaid users to communicate for 10 minutes, making it possible to connect cheaply when in a pinch.

“These new steps were the result of solid cooperation between mtc touch and the Ministry of Telecommunications,” said Nadim Khater, chief commercial officer at mtc. “Our aim is to continuously provide our customers with new services and products to serve their needs.”

Telecom Minister Charbel Nahhas promised to cut the cellular rates between 25 percent to 50 percent this week.
