BEIRUT: Lebanon's Central Bank Governor
Riad Salameh participated Monday in the opening of the
London stock exchange on the occasion of
Lebanon Capital Markets Day.
During the opening, Salameh said that such an event “highlights compelling investment opportunities available in Lebanon.”
The Lebanese Capital Markets Day was coordinated with the Lebanese Central Bank and American bank BNY Mellon.
“We discussed recent developments in the Lebanese economy in the presence of heads of monetary institutions and experts particularly in terms of asset management and investment banking,” Salameh said.
Lebanese Bank Audi, BLOM Bank, Byblos Bank, Bank of Beirut, Malia Group,
Middle East Airlines and Solidere participated in the event.
Salameh also said that London was important to Lebanon given its support for financial growth for Lebanese banks, companies and the broader economy.
