APA members resign in protest against leadership
A+ A-

BEIRUT: Four members of the Association of Professional Accountants (APA) resigned Monday, voicing their concern over the head of the association’s behavior. According to a statement issued by the National News Agency, the resigning group included the vice president of the association Tanous Abboud, its secretary Jacob Abi Ghanem, and members Elie Hares and Beshara Azar. “We took this step because we could not meet our promises to advance the association, outlined in our [electoral] platform,” a statement said. They added that their resignations were in protest against the association president’s actions, which they said included passing bylaws that go against the views of the association’s general assembly and of most accountants.
