Bank workers threaten to expose wage-hike violators
A+ A-

BEIRUT: The Association of Bank Employees warned Thursday that it would disclose the names of the Lebanese banks which have failed to implement a 2011 wage hike.

“The Executive Council has decided to pursue the legal course with the administration of banks that refused to implement the administrative salary increase in 2011.

The association will be compelled to announce the names of the banks that have violated the collective contracts,” the association said in a statement sent to the press.

The association stressed that it would seek the mediation of the Labor Ministry to resolve disputes with some of the banks. It also voiced its support for the Union Coordination Committee, which is demanding the implementation of a new salary scale for state workers and public school teachers.

The association said it would call for a meeting for all branches on March 12 to discuss escalatory steps if mediation fails to produce any result.
