BEIRUT: The National Social Security Fund said over the weekend that doctors contracted by the fund would not be allowed to exceed the newly set fees.
“After adjusting the hospitalization fares effective Jan. 1, 2013, the administration of the fund reminds all contracted doctors that they should strictly implement the fares,” the statement said.
The NSSF said it would revoke contracts with doctors who charge patients more than the official fee.
An agreement was reached last year to increase the tariffs the Fund pays to private hospitals and doctors, ending multiple strikes by hospitals, which had refused to admit non-emergency NSSF patients.
