Figures issued by the World Bank show that the cost of sending remittances from the United States to Lebanon reached 10.62 percent in the third quarter of 2014 for a $200 transfer, having increased from 10.19 percent in the second quarter of the year and decreased from 10.81 percent in the first quarter of 2014 .The cost of sending remittances from Germany to Lebanon reached 16.56 percent in the third quarter of 2014 for a transfer of 140 euros, or about $200, an increase from 16.05 percent in the second quarter of 2014 and a decrease from 16.79 percent in the first quarter of the year.Also, the cost of sending 345 euros, or about $500, from Germany to Lebanon reached 8.36 percent in the third quarter of this year, compared to 8.12 percent in the preceding quarter and 8.44 percent in the first quarter of 2014 .
