A leading Lebanese banker said Tuesday that his bank is aiming to double its size over the next few years through regional expansion, acquisitions and introduction of new products to the market."We aim to expand our operations and double the size of the bank, and this can be achieved through acquisition if proper conditions are ripe," the chairman of Bankmed Mohammed Hariri told reporters during the unveiling of the bank's new identity and logo. He noted that mergers and acquisitions among the top 11 Lebanese banks are not supported by the Central Bank. It was the first Lebanese bank to enter the Turkish market and was the first bank in the MENA region to open a branch in the Dubai Financial Center under the Category 1 status.
