Metlife ALICO maintained its market lead with $78.4 million in life premiums, equivalent to a 17.7-percent market share in 2014, nearly unchanged from 17.8 percent in 2013, and down from 18.7 percent in 2012 and 19.5 percent in 2011 . It was followed by Bancassurance with $60.6 million (13.6 percent), Allianz SNA with $58.2 million (13.1 percent), AROPE with $41.1 million (9.3 percent), and LIA with $40.3 million (9.1 percent) as the top five firms among 34 life insurance providers operating in Lebanon.
