The retail sales index in Lebanon improved slightly in the first six months of 2015 compared to the same period of 2014, but merchants insist the consumption trend over the past few years have not very encouraging.According to the index, retail sales for the six most important items jumped only by 2.2 percent in the first six months of this compared to the same period of last year.But the index also showed that retail sales in the first six months of this year fell by 22.6 percent compared to the same period of 2012, the year this index was first introduced.
