Amid a room of burgeoning techies at Banque du Liban Accelerate 2016, Gen Sadakane and Ramzi Rizk introduced young conferencegoers to their personalized photo marketplace, EyeEm, via a virtual reality experience. The tech startup, based in Berlin and New York, was inspired by photo communities that rose to popularity with the earliest models of the iPhone. For the photo marketing platform, this was just the fodder for what the company would eventually grow into.Setting EyeEm apart from other stock photography companies is its unique algorithm possessing the ability to recommend personalized, high-quality images. EyeEm eliminates time scrolling through hundreds of photos, giving its users a more efficient experience.The company's global online mission has yet to persuade Rizk and Sadakane to open an office in Beirut.
