The wholesale sector fell by 2.21 percent in the fourth quarter of 2016 compared to the same period of 2015, according to Beirut Traders Association and Bankmed Investment Index.However, the 'Intention to Invest Component' was characterized by some relative positivity in light of the encouraging developments that occurred during this quarter," the report added.It noted that the wholesale sector for phones and communications equipment continued to witness a notable decline in its wholesale activity alongside the wholesale sector for electrical engines and transformers, and the wholesale sector for medical equipment and spare parts, which also experienced a significant slump in their wholesale activity.
