Subsidized housing loans for limited income families are expected to be reactivated in a few months after the Finance Ministry and Central Bank pledged to inject more cash for this program, the head of Public Corporation for Housing Rony Lahoud said Thursday.Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Social Affairs Minister Pierre Bou Assi Wednesday urged banks to implement the circular issued by the Central Bank and continue offering subsidized housing loans. However, after the cash dried up, BDL couldn't offer the same incentives and banks stopped offering subsidized housing loans. Most of these citizens found themselves in an awkward situation after banks told them that there was no available cash under the subsidized housing loan program. Some 5,000 families benefit from the subsidized loans yearly.
