Qatar Airways Ltd. Chief Executive Officer Akbar al-Baker pledged to carry on adding routes in defiance of the Saudi Arabia-led isolation of its home country. While the second-biggest Gulf carrier anticipates a "very negative year" in terms of earnings, the passenger tally should be close to what it was before the embargo, Baker said in a Bloomberg TV interview Thursday. Baker revealed in October that Qatar Air expects to post a loss for the 12 months through March after lifting net income 22 percent to 1.97 billion riyals ($535 million) the previous fiscal year.
