NEW YORK: Rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars wanted the announcement for their latest studio album to be out of this world. So the first single, "Up in the Air," has been blasted to the International Space Station.

The song was launched earlier this month. It will be released Tuesday.

Frontman Jared Leto says the band was happy to do something different, despite the tremendous challenge to make it happen.

Thirty Seconds to Mars announced Monday that their fourth album, "Love Lust Faith + Dreams," will be released May 21.
