Snooki wants Pauly D at birth

Snooki wants Pauly D in the delivery room when she gives birth to her first child next month.

The diminutive reality TV star is due to welcome her and fiance Jionni LaValle's first child into the world next month and her 'Jersey Shore' co-star - whose real name is Paul DelVecchio - says he will be by her side during labour.

He said on 'Watch What Happens Live': "I'm gonna be there when the baby's born, she wants me in the room."

The DJ admitted all the cast of the reality show are excited about the impending new arrival, a boy who Snooki - whose real name is Nicole Polizzi - plans to name Lorenzo.

Pauly told MTV News: "I feel like we're all having this baby, because it's the first 'Jersey Shore' baby. And we never thought in a million years Snooki would be a mother, so we're all gonna help her."

And rather than a conventional baby gift, Pauly plans to buy a present that will help little Lorenzo follow in his footsteps.

He said: "I'm gonna get him some DJ equipment. I'm going to teach him how to teach DJ."

Earlier this year, 'Jersey Shore' star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino was admitted to rehab and Pauly says his friend's struggles with alcohol and prescription drug abuse and Snooki's pregnancy have brought the cast closer than ever.

He said: "I'm actually really excited for this season to air. It's actually probably one of my favourite seasons to film because it was all of us; we all came together as a family

"We're all going through some things right now, like obviously Nicole's pregnant, my man Mike just got out of rehab, so how we deal with that and how we filmed it is cool, 'cause we all came together as a family. [That's] something that we didn't have to do before."
