Russell Brand asked David Beckham for back medicine

Russell Brand sought advice for curing a bad back from David Beckham during the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony.

The comedian bumped into the soccer player during rehearsals for his performance of The Beatles' classic 'I Am The Walrus' and asked him for drugs to help with his problem.

Russell told The Sun newspaper: "It was a bit of a moment actually, doing the Olympics rehearsals down at the old Ford plant in Dagenham.

"It doesn't seem like all that long ago I was knocking about down there looking for mischief."

He explained that David insisted he only needed a massage as opposed to anything medicinal.

Russell continued: "I was speaking to David Beckham, who was there with his lovely wife Victoria, and I was asking him about pain relief for a bad back.

"I've got this pain in my lower back and I asked him if he had one of those injections for the pain when he was playing. He said all I needed was a massage, but he wasn't exactly offering."

The 'Rock of Ages' actor was formerly addicted to Class A drugs and compared his recently request to his controversial past.

He added: "It was mad, that whole situation in Dagenham. Me, back there again looking for drugs, only a stone's throw from where my old grandma was buried."
