LOS ANGELES: Fred Willard says he's embarrassed by his recent arrest at an adult movie theater but insists he did nothing wrong.

Willard was a guest Thursday on Jimmy Fallon's late-night show, where he and Fallon cracked jokes about Willard's lewd conduct arrest. Then Willard turned serious.

The 72-year-old actor said "everything is being sorted out" about the incident and that it was a matter of being "in the wrong place at the wrong time."

Willard, whose films include "Best in Show," was arrested July 18 for investigation of committing a lewd act. He was taken into custody by police doing a routine check at a Hollywood adult theater.

The Los Angeles City Attorney's office determined that Willard's case was eligible for a diversion program that could prevent formal charges against him.
