Women’s group celebrates change in discriminatory state policy

BEIRUT: Not so long ago, the Institute of Progressive Womenguests hosted an afternoon reception to celebrate a change in government policy, one that allows mothers to open bank accounts for their underage children.

The event, held at the Monroe Hotel, was attended by representatives from Lebanon’s main banks. Among the guests were Wafa Abed, George Abi Saleh and Denise Herbel.
