In case you thought the jury was still out on whether size matters, the 2015 Cadillac Escalade is definitive proof that while bigger may not necessarily be better, it certainly has its advantages. Most days I drive relatively smaller cars – my daily driver is a 3-series BMW and once in a while I take out my Porsche. The first thing you notice while driving the new Escalade is that those SUVs that towered over you when you were driving a smaller car feel like guppies beside Cadillac's massive people hauler, and for good reason. This car is nearly 518 cm long (3.8 cm more than its predecessor), 189 cm tall and 205 cm wide. Most of Beirut's inner roads, particularly those in Ashrafieh, are really narrow, and the way people park their cars makes it nearly impossible for anything larger than a Fiat 500 to squeeze through – I think I made at least four people move their cars in order to get the Escalade to squeeze through.
