"Ave, this is your car". I smile inwardly at the choice of words as the charming woman politely gestures toward the Porsche 991 Carrera S. "My car" – if only that were true. One would imagine that improving an iconic car like the 911 is a task that is beyond the abilities of mere mortals, but it looks like the folks at Zuffenhausen are no ordinary engineers, because this car, the seventh generation of this legendary automobile, is better in almost every conceivable way. And what's truly astounding is that despite the decades of improvement and refinement, Porsche has managed to preserve the 911's essential character while creating a very different car. Finally I insert the car-shaped key fob, on the left of the steering wheel in traditional Porsche style, and start the car. It's not because this particular car is packed with options that include a PDK transmission, 20-inch sport rims, an electric sunroof and various other sports equipment.I can't resist anymore, so I release the electric brake, put the car in drive and take to the road. The car isolates sound perfectly and the only thing I hear is a soft rasp from behind me.
