When it comes to buying cars, convenience usually tops people's list of criteria so it's no wonder that hatchbacks have grown increasingly popular over the decades. When you come right down to it, a car's main purpose is to transport you, your passengers and your cargo from point A to point B in the most efficient manner possible, and more often than not hatchbacks fit the bill perfectly. Sure, you can also do that in many sedans, except you will inevitably face the same problem. Every one of the cars I mentioned are excellent automobiles with plenty of outstanding traits, but in every pair the sedans tend to appeal to more mature buyers while the hatches are like catnip to young drivers. Then you have one of the more important traits of hatchbacks. What this translates to is that hatches powered by the same engines as sedans are arguably quicker and more fuel efficient than sedans.
