If there's one thing that's hard to argue with it's that American muscle cars of today are vastly more powerful than those produced in the latter half of the 20th century.Think about it: A new V-6 Ford Mustang has about 100 more horsepower than a 1976 V-8 Pontiac Trans Am and the latest pony car can go from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, which is quicker than old stock V-8 muscle cars could ever achieve.Nice huh?Of course there's one final advantage that old muscle cars with their big-block V-8s had that the newer models with their smaller engines just can't manage: torque. So yeah, newer American muscle may be powerful, refined and tantalizing gorgeous, but it mostly lacks the sheer brute force or versatility of old cars.
