It only makes sense that in the face of such demand BMW would be among the first to cater to the call, and so a few years ago you had the very quick first generation X1, a vehicle that drove like a sports car and looked like a racy hatchback.For 2016 BMW gave it another try, a very quick turnaround for the marque, and this time the new X1 is everything a crossover should be and much more. I've mentioned in several of my past reviews that BMWs have always featured prominently among the cars owned by my family members.Do keep in mind that while BMWs are not known for being front-wheel-drive cars, that's not to say the company is not skilled at it.Simply put, BMW has developed one of the most efficient crossover designs I've seen.BMW also addressed another of the older X1's shortcomings: The new car now has two extra cubic feet of cargo space, as well as a huge storage well beneath the rear deck.
