Enter the Bentley Bentayga, the luxury carmaker's answer to the crossover.Bentley wasn't content with simply dropping an extremely powerful mill in the Bentayga and calling it a day, because this SUV has the handling to go with that performance. When Porsche first introduced the Cayenne, at the time I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of a Porsche crest residing on the hood of an SUV.Now Bentley has followed suit, and I expect many will also scratch their heads and wonder why the manufacturer of opulent cars would dabble in crossovers. Porsche did the same thing with the Cayenne, which is why that SUV and the Volkswagen Touareg shared the same platform, and even a power train, and we ended up with pretty much the same car with different fasciae and interiors, but in vastly different price segments. In fact I was specifically asked not to take the car on such excursions for fear of damaging the car, so why would an owner want to do that?Don't get me wrong, the Bentayga is a superb car with the build quality, luxury, fit and finish worthy of a Bentley.
