I'm talking, of course, about an opportunity to test-drive yet another Ferrari, a privilege no sane car enthusiast – or any human being – would forgo so he can sleep another couple of hours. This is a Ferrari that enthusiasts will easily recognize – its signature stripes are unmistakable.Ferrari even discarded the center console, and installed the transmission buttons on a carbon-fiber blade. With hardly any cars on the road and dawn just breaking, it was the ideal moment to see just what this car could do, so I pulled the door shut and tugged on the right column-mounted paddle to engage first gear.In order to add another 35 ponies on the 562 horsepower produced by the standard 458 Italia, Ferrari has fitted this engine with higher-lift cams, shorter intake runners, redesigned intake ports and adjusted piston geometry, resulting in a compression boost from 12.5:1 to 14.0:1 .There was no hesitation, the Ferrari bolted forward like someone stepped on its tail, wailing so loudly that I couldn't hear anything else. There's only one word to perfectly describe this car: savage.
