With so much going on recently pertaining to the future of the automotive industry, this seemed like an excellent time to talk about the DeLorean DMC-12 . Most people know this car for its singular ability to time travel when it hits 88 miles per hour, which made it the perfect choice for the trilogy of "Back to the Future" movies starring none other than Tom Cruise ... wait for it ... yep, there it is. It seems that's no longer the case, because the real DMC-12 has managed to travel more than 30 years into the future and land on showroom floors yet again in exactly the same garb it wore at the time.Hopefully all of the planned 300 cars will have been manufactured with some time to spare – before being forced into retirement when most countries begin prohibiting gasoline-powered cars completely.
