Ancient rock, wine, organic grains, culture, mountain air with tinges of nostalgia – these are the elements that Sami and Ramzi Ghosn, the sibling duo behind Massaya vineyards, were toying with when conceiving their new resort concept in Faqra. The wine cellar is located in the basement of the edifice, and features natural rock formations that unaffectedly temper the humidity levels in the room.Indeed, semicircling five tiers high and overlooking a pond – where schools of fish can be seen swimming – the theater is the centerpiece of Massaya's resort concept, exemplifying for Ghosn the glories of Lebanon's past and the allures of its present. The rocks were used to construct not only the theater but all aspects of the resort were carefully mined to maintain their aura of authenticity.
