Alia Al-Monla, certified image consultant from Colour Me Beautiful U.K. and head of CMB Arabia, talks about understanding your color palette with The Daily Star. One can identify wrong colors when there is a dark shadow cast on the chin and neck; emphasizing aging lines.CMB uses the Munsell color vision test for color classification – where undertone, depth and clarity of different colors are compared against one's skin, eyes and hair – determining six dominant color characteristics. Those in turn determine each person's 30 dominant colors.Further color tests reveal one's six secondary and six tertiary colors, which are the additional 12 colors that make each one's personal color palette. Fashion color trends also need to be checked against one's skin color."I was the 'teta' in the class alongside young students!" the white pixie-coiffed Monla quips, but proudly. She later worked with CMB U.K. for four years where she gained experience in image consulting. CMB Arabia also gives a one-week intensive training course in either personal styling or color consulting.
