Harry's Bar for the uninitiated is one of the most famous establishments in Venice.Last Friday, the city's own Harry's Bar unveiled its new menu for the summer season, designed by the Michelin-starred Italian chef Alberico Penati and executed by the restaurant's new executive chef Orazio Ganci. Each table was given two of each dish to ensure that guests had the chance to taste a bit of everything, and in stark contrast to the usual service in Beirut, the waiters on hand were attentive, dishing out the starters and refilling a seemingly bottomless glass of either Greco Di Tufo or Chianti.Harry's Bar was not traditionally known as a fine-dining restaurant but rather one where you could enjoy the best of Italian cuisine – simple, tasty and fresh.Hawa then launched Harry's Bar's summer menu, saying it contained "the freshest ingredients" of the "finest quality" – with the somewhat amusing qualifier, "in this country".
