The race weekend – which included the classic marathon, a marathon relay, a 5-km run, a 10-km Fun Run and a 2-km race for kids with parents escorting them – attracted an expected number exceeding 37,811 participants from 85 Arab and foreign countries.The 5-km Youth Race attracted the second-largest number of participants, with 4,319 runners.Kenyan runner Jackson Limo outpaced thousands of competitors Sunday to win the 2015 Beirut Marathon. Limo finished the 42.195 km race with an unofficial time of 2:11:04, breaking the record set by Fikadu Girma last year by nine seconds. In the female 42-km race, the winner was Moroccan Kaltoum Bousayriyaa, who scored an unofficial time of 2:36:05 .
