This was one of the greatest pieces of news to hear Sunday evening about Lebanon and our designers.Yes, like I always say and keep on repeating, we Lebanese are brilliant and are the best at everything, including fashion and design. Designer, architect and Starch Foundation member Elie Metni created an interpretation of a traditional Lebanese house to host an exhibition of Lebanese work. The installation showcased some of the best of the country's design with eight members of the Starch Foundation besides Metni. The Starch Foundation was created by Rabih Kayrouz and Tala Hajjar, in collaboration with Solidere, in 2008 and aims to launch the careers of emerging Lebanese designers. The program runs annually, hosting a number of designers and architects each year. Lebanon's Starch designer Timi Hayek came highly commended for Best Designer cermenting a double win for our prestigious country.Hajjar went on to talk about the significance of the win, not just for the Starch Foundation but for Lebanese designers of all stripes.
