During the summer of 1982, I was employed by Catholic Relief Service to serve as their director in Tyre charged with the responsibility to deliver humanitarian assistance to Lebanese and Palestinian victims of the Israeli Defense Forces invasion.I had five Holy Cross Sisters who lived across the street from me and who helped implement the program of assistance. I lived alone in the office with the pillowcase under my bed. Aware of my predicament, I went over to the Amal Movement headquarters and was allowed access to Rabab (sister to the revered Musa Sadr). I asked her for protection for me and my CRS money.
