The Hollywood Pop Up Comedy Club is back in Beirut this weekend, bringing four American comedians to the Saint-George Yacht Club. All are regular performers at some of the most well-known comedy clubs in the United States, like the Laugh Factory and the Comedy Store.Hollywood producer Ron Senkowski, who co-created the event with his associate Samira Kawas, fell in love with Lebanon a long time ago. He has focused a portion of his career on acquainting the U.S. with the country, starting with the 2014 animated film "The Prophet," based on celebrated Lebanese-American poet Khalil Gibran's book by the same name. The question of whether or not American comedy would play with a Lebanese crowd still remained.Jokes critical of U.S. President Donald Trump got applause, and the crowd enjoyed Bowers' breakdown of the racial divide in the U.S. as he saw it.
