The World Week of Italian Cuisine inaugurated its third edition over the weekend, beginning an international weeklong run of foodie events to celebrate and share Italian culinary traditions.The opening night was toasted with a dinner at Gavi, an Italian restaurant with a specially selected menu of traditional Italian dishes.The secondo (second main course) presented another Italian classic: a truffle and mushroom risotto topped with 36-year aged parmesan and served with a rich Tuscan claret.Throughout the week, 14 Italian restaurants around Beirut will be offering special deals and menus, prepared with Italian ingredients.The World Week of Italian Cuisine runs through Nov. 24 .
