British zoos start annual census
Associated Press
A+ A-

LONDON: It's time to count the critters at British zoos.

And it's not an easy task.

Zookeepers Thursday started the annual chore of counting every animal in their care as part of the annual census program.

Each year they find it's not easy to count insects, scorpions and other small creatures.

The census gives authorities data used for zoo management and animal welfare plans.
