BEIRUT: In Monte Carlo, where everything is over-the-top and expensive, car crashes are no exception.
A five-car pile-up last week, which happened when the driver of a Bentley crashed into a Mercedes, a Porsche, a Ferrari and an Aston Martin, might very well be the world’s most expensive car crash, the U.K.'s Southwest News Service reported.
Hundreds of tourists looked on as the $400,000 Bentley hit four other luxury cars in front of the iconic Place du Casino.
The Mercedes S Class worth $120,000 was the first victim, when it was scraped down the side before crashing into a $230,000 black Ferrari F430. A $230,000 Aston Martin Rapide and an $130,000 Porsche 911 both suffered frontal damage.
It is estimated the crash will cost more than $65,000.
