KABUL: Afghanistan's Interior Ministry says four civilians have been killed in a roadside bomb explosion in the country's east.
A statement from the ministry said the blast happened Sunday morning in Shegal district of Kunar province. It said the attack wounded one person.
In neighboring Nangarhar province, a government spokesman said a suicide bomber attacked an intelligence service office Sunday near the border with Pakistan, shooting and wounding a guard before detonating his explosives. Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, a spokesman for Nangarhar provincial governor, said two intelligence service officials were wounded and the building was damaged by the blast.
No group claimed responsibility for the attacks. The Taliban frequently uses roadside bombs and suicide attacks against Afghan and NATO forces and government offices in the country.
